First Bus passengers across Bristol, Bath and the West are being warned to expect a new set of ticket price changes, with the operator signalling higher weekly costs in the city and small increases to some singles.
In an update on its website, First Bus said the package includes a 10p rise on £2.50 single tickets. Weekly fares are also set to increase, with the operator indicating a £1.50 rise in weekly tickets in Bath and Bristol, and a £2 rise in Weston. First Bus said child singles will remain at £1, and added that adult singles will remain capped at £3.
The operator also used the notice to promote “Tap On, Tap Off” payments on board, saying it is a quicker way to pay and is intended to ensure customers are charged the cheapest fare for their journeys.
For many households, the bigger change will be felt by people who rely on weekly travel for commuting and college, where incremental rises add up quickly over a month. The update lands as Bristol continues to see high demand on core routes, with many residents using buses as their main alternative to driving for city-centre travel.
First Bus said full details are available on its website, alongside its wider ticketing information, and advised passengers to check the fare information before travelling.
