Avon and Somerset Police have issued a public appeal for help identifying a man captured on CCTV in connection with an assault at a bar in Bristol late last year.

Police say the incident took place at about midnight on Friday 12 December in the Bordeaux Quay area of Bristol city centre. Officers were called after a man in his thirties was assaulted as he was leaving the toilet area of the venue.

According to the force, the victim was punched several times to the face, pushed to the floor and kicked before members of the public intervened. The man suffered cuts, bruising and a swollen nose, but did not require hospital treatment, police added.

Avon and Somerset Police have released CCTV images showing a man they believe may have information relevant to their enquiries. The individual is described by officers in the appeal as being of mixed heritage and wearing a dark bucket hat, dark jacket, and dark trousers at the time the footage was captured.

Detectives have asked anyone who recognises the man or who was in the area around the time of the incident to come forward with information. No arrests have been publicly confirmed in connection with the assault, and police have not released details indicating any motive.

The appeal follows other recent police requests for witness information in and around Bristol, as officers continue to encourage the public to share dashcam or CCTV recordings that may assist active investigations.
